There’ll be no excuse for an empty stomach with the abundance of farmstyle fare on offer:
Callie Louw of Southern Smoke (well known from the Swartland Revolution and himself a winemaker) will be serving up his speciality pulled pork and chicken wings for adults and kiddies alike.
Charcuterie is a great match for Pinot Noir and cider alike, and The Flying Pig from Darling will be selling a scrumptious selection of dry-cured sausages and whole cured meats, as well as local cheese platters. They use only pasture-reared, all-vegetarian fed pork for their bespoke, handmade charcuterie.
Elgin’s famous all-in-one farm stall - Peregrine - will add to the farm feel with their freshly-baked quiches. They’ll also tempt dessert lovers with their apple and almond tarts.
Homemade roosterkoek, “Boere” prego rolls and relishes will be on offer from Villiersdorp’s much-loved Alwyn Vincent Padstal. They’ll have homemade rusks, jams, traditional toffee apples and ginger beer, too.
For those craving a cheesy slice or three, there’ll be pizzas from Maggino Bros - including a special apple-based pizza for the adventurous!
A fantastic day out shouldn’t end without ice cream - and you’ll be spoilt for choice with two artisan ice cream producers! The Soft Machine will be twirling and whirling their gourmet soft serve ice cream from their quirky caravan, using preservative free ingredients and delicious sugar cones. N2ice Cream Lab will bring a touch of science for your sweet tooth with their ice creams blended and frozen before your eyes, using liquid nitrogen. Guests are invited to participate in making their own!
Parched? There’ll be plenty of drinks on offer to quench that thirst!
Bringing your little ones along? Pre-book their tickets and they’ll receive a deliciously cool kiddies food pack on arrival!
For those craving salmon roses with their Chardonnay or a Thai-spiced delight with their Riesling, The Thai Hut (well known for their stand at the V&A Waterfront food market) will be ready to please.
